Leslie and Elizabeth Message
our Missionary Friends in Belgium

Leslie and Elizabeth have been serving the Lord with the Belgian Evangelical Mission (now renamed as ViaNova) for some 40 years. During that time Leslie has held various positions within the Mission and its associated churches.

Leslie and Elizabeth have lived in Mechelen for the majority of that time and until just recently, Leslie was the Pastor of the Hamme Evangelical Centre.

The Flemish Council of the Belgian Evangelical Mission recently decided it was no longer financially viable to keep the Church building in Hamme operable. So the Hamme church closed and the members dispersed among other churches in the area.

Leslie and Elizabeth have become members of the Evangelical Church in St. Niklaas. Leslie is responsible for the Hamme part of the congregation, together with serving as Chaplin at Antwerp prison and having an itinerant ministry in Belgium and the Netherlands.

God has called us to assist Church planting missionaries. We understand Church planting is and should be the main goal of missionaries.

We have had the opportunity to spend 6 months in 12 different countries in the 10/40 (Lines 0f Latitude10’N 40’N) window throughout the past few years. We believe that God has called us to go back and help Church Planters in this area of the world through helping train locals, teaching English using the Bible and creating video updates. As we highlight unreached people groups, we hope to inspire others to follow God’s call to foreign mission field.

With God’s help, we will go and work alongside missionaries in their ministry in any way we can – whether that is teaching English classes using the Bible, HBC, building projects, home schooling, Bible study, or discipling. While we are there, we will make a video for them to send back to their supporters(& ours!), so we can all be more INFORMED about missions, INSPIRED to work in missions, and CONNECTED on a more personal level with our missionaries.
