At Witham Baptist Church, we exist to glorify God through worship, prayer, the study of His Word, and loving fellowship. Guided by Christ, our ultimate Head, we seek His will in all that we do.

We are a warm, family-friendly fellowship where all are welcome. Together, we worship, pray, and grow in faith. Children are especially valued and nurtured through engaging Sunday School lessons that teach them about our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Leslie & Elizabeth Message

Leslie and Elizabeth have spent over four decades sharing the love of Christ across Belgium with ViaNova (formerly the Belgian Evangelical Mission). Based in Mechelen, they’ve poured their lives into building churches, mentoring leaders, and serving communities with unwavering dedication.

Now part of the Evangelical Church in St. Niklaas, Leslie leads the Hamme outreach, serves as a chaplain in Antwerp prison, and travels regularly across Belgium and the Netherlands, bringing hope and the gospel wherever he goes.

Mill Grove

Mill Grove is a Christian residential community and family support centre in South Woodford, London. It has been a home for children and families in need since 1899, when Herbert White asked Rosa Hutchin to care for a grieving girl named Rosie. Rosa opened her home, and Herbert provided financial support—an act of Christian compassion.

The name "Mill Grove," adopted in 1976, reflects two key places: the historic riverside area of South Woodford and “The Grove” in Tiptree, Essex, where the family lived during World War II. Tiptree remains special, with ongoing ties to the United Reformed Church where Rosa is buried.

The work is funded entirely by gifts from Christian individuals, families, and churches—a true “work of faith.

BMS World Mission

BMS World Mission is a Christian mission organisation rooted in the Baptist tradition, working globally to share God’s love in word and action. Founded in 1792, BMS partners with local churches and communities across Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. Together they support mission, justice, education, healthcare and community development, particularly among people who are marginalised or overlooked. BMS believes in holistic mission — caring for spiritual, physical and social needs — and works through long-term relationships built on trust, dignity and mutual respect. We are proud to support BMS as part of our commitment to God’s global mission.
